Michael Pritchard, PE, is a seasoned mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience delivering innovative, reliable, and sustainable engineering solutions across the Pacific region. As the founder of Pritchard Engineering, Inc. (PEI), he has built a reputation for excellence in mechanical, electrical, and systems design, serving clients in Guam, Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and beyond.

A registered Professional Engineer in Guam (#1451), CNMI (#405), Oregon, Washington, and California, Michael also holds certification as an ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector (#8195266). His career began with foundational work in high-tech and commercial projects on the U.S. mainland, including designs for Intel’s advanced facilities, clean rooms, data centers, and LEED-recognized buildings. This early expertise in precision engineering laid the groundwork for his transition to the unique challenges of island environments.
Since establishing PEI, Michael has focused on Guam’s demanding landscape typhoon-resistant structures, corrosion-prone marine conditions, and stringent UFC and building codes. For more than 15 years, he has been a trusted partner to the Department of Defense (DOD), NAVFAC, and federal agencies, leading design, construction administration, and third-party quality control on multimillion-dollar projects like $90M aircraft hangars at Andersen Air Force Base, secure facilities for the FBI and ICE, and resilient munitions storage magazines at Naval Base Guam.
Beyond military work, Michael’s portfolio spans healthcare (modernizing Guam Memorial Hospital’s maternity ward), commercial developments (hotels, restaurants, and medical centers), local government infrastructure, and renewable energy initiatives, including solar PV systems and energy-efficient designs in partnership with firms like Pacific Solar & Photovoltaics.
His approach blends cutting-edge innovation such as Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, radon mitigation, and sustainable renewables with uncompromising attention to detail, ensuring every project exceeds expectations for functionality, efficiency, and longevity.
A former president of the ASHRAE Guam Section, Michael is deeply committed to advancing sustainable practices and professional standards in the region.
